Background
During much of the year, humid air penetrates cold storage facilities even in northern Sweden. Moisture that condenses on cold surfaces can lead to slip accidents and other incidents, as well as damage to packaging and unnecessary ice formation on cooling units. Therefore, it is beneficial to remove water from the air with a dehumidifier that operates efficiently at the low temperatures typical of a cold storage facility.
Initially, several REX dehumidifiers were used for the installation due to delivery times for the larger NEXT units. Over the summer, the REX units had to work hard as their capacity was at the limit of what was needed to handle the actual moisture load. Despite this, the machines were able to maintain a good climate in the warehouse. Both REX and NEXT dehumidifiers have uniquely low electricity consumption, are easy to install, and have high capacity even at low temperatures!
The simplicity of the installation made it possible to easily use a temporary setup while waiting for the more powerful NEXT dehumidifiers.
What problems did Airwatergreen’s dehumidifiers solve?
Over the summer, six REX dehumidifiers placed around the warehouse handled the moisture brought in by warm air penetrating the space.
Now, two NEXT units have been installed, offering significantly higher total capacity and lower electricity consumption per kg of water removed from the air. The REX dehumidifiers were connected via our cloud-based Climate Control System solution, and the NEXT units are now also connected in the same way.
This allows for continuous good control over the climate and operational situation.
